Radiesse is a type of filler. It adds volume to areas of shadowing and lines that form from the aging process. It can also be used to alleviate depressions from scars. I use it commonly to give a midface lift by restoring volume to the cheeks, the nasolabial folds, temples and jowls. This is where artistry, technique and experience become critical to achieving a natural and balanced result.
Radiesse is composed of hydroxylapatite crystals which is essentially calcium. It would be extremely rare to have an allergic reaction to Radiesse. Allergy testing is not required. Radiesse lasts for about one year. However, because it stimulates one’s own collagen, you will achieve a prolonged baseline improvement.
Radiesse is not a good choice for filling delicate areas such as under the eyes or lips.
