Sculptra is a unique filling agent. It is best for patients who need a substantial amount of volume. We can truly achieve a filler facelift or a liquid facelift using this product. Sculptra is made of L-polylactic acid particles suspended in a water solution. Once placed in the appropriate areas of the face, the product stimulates the body’s own collagen forming response. The results are therefore seen more gradually compared to the other fillers, where a more immediate result is achieved. Also, to achieve the best volume, sculptra is added over a series of 3 treatments, spaced about one month apart. More than 3 treatments could be required to achieve the final desired result. Once achieved, sculptra can last 2-5 years. The L-polylactic acid particles eventually dissolve and are not permanent.
