Woman with smooth, volumized facial skin representing Bellafill filler results

Bellafill

Bellafill is the filler you choose when you want the result to stay. Collagen gives immediate volume and lift while microscopic PMMA spheres remain in place to support your own collagen production, so a single treatment keeps working for years rather than months. It is FDA approved for facial wrinkles, and it is designed to treat mild to severe atrophic acne scars on the cheeks in patients 21 and older.

What isBellafill?

Most dermal fillers are made of materials your body eventually absorbs, which is why their results fade within six to nine months. Bellafill is built differently. It combines smooth collagen gel with polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. The collagen provides instant volume, lifting a wrinkle or a depressed acne scar to the level of the surrounding skin the moment it is injected.

The PMMA microspheres are the part that lasts. Your body cannot absorb them, so they stay where they are placed and act as a scaffold that encourages your skin to build new collagen of its own. As the injected collagen is gradually absorbed, your natural collagen takes over the support. That is why Bellafill results typically hold for one to five years, and in some patients even longer, with the full effect settling in at around three months.

Bellafill has been FDA approved for facial wrinkles since 2011 and went through more than five years of testing and clinical trials. Because it contains PMMA, we perform a simple allergy test about a month before your treatment; allergic reactions are rare, and the injections themselves take 15 to 60 minutes depending on your plan, with topical numbing available on request.

Who is Bellafill for?

Bellafill is for people who like what filler does and want it to keep doing it, without a refill appointment every few months.

Because Bellafill contains PMMA, an allergy test is performed about a month before treatment. For acne scars, it is designed for patients 21 and older with mild to severe atrophic scarring on the cheeks. Your provider reviews your skin and history at your consultation and tells you honestly whether Bellafill or a shorter-acting filler is the better fit.

You want results that last

Typical fillers are reabsorbed within 6 to 9 months. Bellafill holds for 1 to 5 years, and some patients still see results beyond that.

Lines and wrinkles bother you

Nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and other expression lines are the classic use.

You have atrophic acne scars

Bellafill lifts depressed scars on the cheeks immediately, then supports long term collagen building beneath them. Designed for patients 21 and older.

Volume loss is showing

Hollowed under eyes, flattened cheeks, laxity along the cheeks and jaw, chin dimpling, or thin lips.

You have realistic expectations

Bellafill refines and restores; the goal is you, structured and rested, not a different face.

Bellafill lifts a depressed scar the day it is injected, then keeps improving as your own collagen builds around the microspheres. This pair is from the Bellafill results gallery on the practice's previous website. Drag the handle to compare.

Pricing depends on the areas treated and the number of syringes your plan calls for, so we quote it at your consultation. A second session is common for severe scarring or deep wrinkles.

Injection time depends on your treatment plan. Topical numbing is available on request. An allergy test is done about a month beforehand.

Minor redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites settles quickly. Skip makeup and avoid touching the area for a day, and stay out of sun and heat while it calms.

The lift is visible right away and the full effect settles by about three months as your collagen builds. Results typically last one to five years, sometimes longer.

Frequently asked questions

What is Bellafill?

Bellafill is an FDA approved dermal filler made of collagen and PMMA microspheres. The collagen gives immediate volume; the microspheres stay in place and support your own collagen production for long term results.

How is Bellafill different from other fillers?

Most fillers are fully absorbed by the body within 6 to 9 months. The PMMA microspheres in Bellafill cannot be absorbed, so they keep supporting the treated area for years after the injected collagen is gone.

Does Bellafill really last five years?

For many patients, yes. Results typically last one to five years; some patients see them fade closer to three years and others still notice improvement beyond five.

What can Bellafill treat?

Fine lines and wrinkles, nasolabial folds and marionette lines, under eye hollows, cheek volume and contour, chin dimpling, jawline definition, nose reshaping, thin lips, and atrophic acne scars.

Can Bellafill treat acne scars?

Yes. It is designed for mild to severe atrophic acne scars on the cheeks in patients 21 and older. The collagen lifts the scar level with the surrounding skin immediately, and the microspheres support new collagen underneath it.

Is Bellafill safe?

Bellafill has been FDA approved for facial wrinkles since 2011 and went through over five years of testing and clinical trials. Allergic reactions to PMMA are rare, and we perform an allergy test about a month before treatment to be sure.

Does the treatment hurt?

Injections take 15 to 60 minutes, and a topical anesthetic is available on request if you would prefer to be numbed first.

What is recovery like?

There is virtually no downtime. Minor redness, swelling, bruising, or itching at the injection sites resolves quickly. For the first day, avoid touching the area or wearing makeup, stay out of sun and heat, and use ice for any temporary swelling.

How many sessions will I need?

A second session is common for severe acne scarring or deep wrinkles, and your provider maps this out at your consultation.

Can Bellafill be combined with other treatments?

We advise against combining Bellafill with other dermal fillers, but it pairs well with surface treatments like HydraFacial, microdermabrasion, and dermaplaning.

How much does Bellafill cost?

Cost depends on the areas treated and the amount of product needed, so you receive a personalized quote at your consultation.
