Plastic surgery patient at The Dermatology, Laser & Vein Center in Cincinnati

Plastic surgery

When the right answer is surgical, it deserves a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Balvant Arora brings more than two decades of plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery experience to our Montgomery Road office.

Surgery, when it is the right tool.

Some problems no device can fix. Skin stretched by pregnancy or major weight loss will not shrink on its own, separated abdominal muscles only close with repair, and glandular tissue behind a male chest does not respond to diet or exercise. For those cases the practice offers a focused surgical menu, from abdominoplasty and breast surgery to facelift, eyelid surgery, and combined mommy makeover plans.

Every procedure begins the same way: a consultation with your surgeon, an honest assessment of candidacy, and a plan built around your anatomy and goals.

From consultation to recovery

Consult with the surgeon

You meet with Dr. Arora himself, not a coordinator. He listens to your goals, examines your anatomy, skin quality, and overall health, and explains what surgery can and cannot achieve in your case, including risks, recovery, and realistic outcomes.

Candidacy and planning

Good surgical results start with good candidacy: stable weight, good overall health, and realistic expectations. If you are a candidate, Dr. Arora builds a personalized surgical plan, and combined procedures such as a mommy makeover are sequenced into a single session where that is the safer, more efficient choice.

Procedure day

Length depends on the plan: an eyelid procedure is an outpatient visit, while a full mommy makeover typically runs four to six hours under one anesthesia session. Incisions are placed discreetly, in natural creases or low on the abdomen, so scars heal as inconspicuously as possible.

Recovery and follow-up

You leave with clear post-operative instructions, and follow-up visits track your healing. Swelling and bruising ease over the first weeks; many patients return to normal daily activities within one to two weeks depending on the procedure, with final results developing over the following months.

Frequently asked questions

Is the surgeon board certified?

Yes. Dr. Balvant Arora, MD, MBA is a board-certified plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgeon with residency training in general and plastic surgery, a cosmetic surgery fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital, and more than two decades of surgical experience. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

How do I know if I am a candidate for surgery?

Candidacy is decided at your consultation, based on your anatomy, overall health, and goals. Generally, good candidates are in good health, at or near a stable weight, and have realistic expectations. If a non-surgical option would serve you better, this practice offers those too and will say so.

What kind of anesthesia is used?

It depends on the procedure and your surgical plan. Some procedures, such as upper eyelid surgery, can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation, while larger procedures use general anesthesia. Combining procedures into one session, as in a mommy makeover, means a single anesthesia event and a single recovery.

How long is recovery after plastic surgery?

It varies by procedure. Eyelid surgery patients often return to many normal activities within one to two weeks, while a tummy tuck or mommy makeover requires more protected recovery time before resuming exercise and lifting. Dr. Arora walks you through a realistic, procedure-specific timeline at your consultation.

Will my scars be visible?

Incisions are planned to be as discreet as the procedure allows: within the natural crease of the eyelid, around the areola, or low on the abdomen where clothing covers them. Scars fade substantially over time, and you receive care instructions to support the best possible healing.

How much does plastic surgery cost in Cincinnati?

Cost depends entirely on the procedure and your personalized surgical plan, so quotes are provided at your consultation after Dr. Arora has examined you and defined the plan. Financing through CareCredit is available.
