Juvéderm
Juvederm is a family of FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers that restore volume, smooth wrinkles and folds, and enhance the lips, cheeks, chin, and jawline. Results show immediately, most formulas contain lidocaine for comfort, and because it is hyaluronic acid, the result is fully reversible.
What isJuvéderm?
Juvederm is built on hyaluronic acid, a sugar your skin already makes to hold hydration and volume. A smooth HA gel is placed beneath the skin exactly where the face has hollowed or creased, restoring contour on the spot. Because HA attracts water, it improves hydration and texture along the way.
It is not one product but five. Ultra XC plumps lips and softens moderate wrinkles; Ultra Plus XC is thicker, for deeper folds; Voluma XC rebuilds cheek and midface volume; Vollure XC smooths moderate to severe wrinkles while moving naturally with expression; Volbella XC is the softest, for subtle lips and the fine lines around the mouth.
Your injector chooses the formulation and placement around your anatomy, so results look like you on a very good day. Most formulas contain lidocaine, results appear immediately and settle over the following days, and if you ever want it undone, HA fillers dissolve with hyaluronidase.
Who is Juvéderm for?
Juvederm is for people who want their volume back today, with room to adjust.
Because the family spans five formulations, the consultation is where the plan takes shape. We match product, depth, and amount to your face, and tell you honestly if a different filler or treatment would serve you better.
You have lost facial volume
Thinning cheeks, early jowls, or laugh lines that make the face read older or tired.
You want fuller, better-shaped lips
From subtle hydration with Volbella to definite volume with Ultra XC, always in proportion.
Lines and folds bother you
Smile lines, marionette lines, and lipstick lines around the mouth respond well to the right formulation.
You want rejuvenation without surgery
A 20 to 45 minute visit with little to no downtime, not an operating room.
You are in good overall health
Not pregnant or breastfeeding, with no current skin conditions such as eczema flare-ups or sunburn.
Where Juvédermworks
Each area of the face gets its own formulation: thicker gels rebuild structure in the cheeks and chin, softer ones move naturally in the lips and fine lines.

Frequently asked questions
What is Juvederm made of?
Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that maintains skin hydration and volume. The gel is smooth, so it blends softly with your own tissue.
Are the injections painful?
Discomfort is minimal. Most Juvederm formulas contain lidocaine, and numbing cream is available before treatment.
How long does treatment take?
Most appointments take 20 to 45 minutes, and you return to your day afterward.
When will I see results?
Immediately. Minor swelling can temporarily affect the final look, which settles over the following days.
How long do results last?
6 months to 2 years depending on the product and area: roughly 6 to 12 months in the lips, 12 to 18 months in the smile lines, and up to 2 years in the cheeks.
Which Juvederm product will I get?
It depends on the area and the goal. Ultra XC and Volbella XC for lips, Voluma XC for cheeks, Ultra Plus XC and Vollure XC for deeper folds. Your provider selects the formulation at your consultation.
Is there any downtime?
Little to none. Mild swelling or bruising resolves within a few days, and most patients go straight back to normal activities.
Can Juvederm be reversed?
Yes. As a hyaluronic acid filler it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you want the result adjusted or removed.
Is Juvederm safe?
Juvederm is FDA approved and has a strong safety record when injected by experienced medical professionals.
Can I combine Juvederm with Botox?
Yes. Juvederm pairs well with Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify: filler restores volume while the relaxers soften expression lines.
Am I a good candidate?
If you want to restore volume, smooth lines, or enhance features without surgery, likely yes. Good candidates are in good overall health, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and free of current skin conditions such as eczema flare-ups or sunburn.
