Skin treatments

Acne, sun damage, texture, scars, unwanted hair, and visible veins: this is the heart of what a dermatology laser practice does. Over more than 25 years in Cincinnati we have assembled one of the widest ranges of laser and light technology in the area, so the treatment fits your skin, not the reverse.

A laser for nearly every skin problem.

Different wavelengths do different work. AviClear targets the oil glands behind acne, BBL clears sun spots and redness, Fraxel and CO2 resurface texture and lines, Morpheus8 pairs microneedling with radiofrequency for tightening, Pico breaks up pigment and tattoo ink, and sclerotherapy and YAG close down unwanted veins.

With this many options, choosing is a medical judgment. Your skin type, your concern, and your downtime budget decide the device, and that decision is made by a dermatologist.

How we treat your skin

A dermatologist reads your skin

Before any laser turns on, your provider evaluates your skin type, your concern, and its cause. Pigment, redness, texture, and acne each absorb different wavelengths, and skin tone changes which devices are safe, so this exam is where results are actually decided.

The device follows the diagnosis

With everything from gentle Clear + Brilliant to deep CO2 resurfacing in one office, the recommendation is driven by what your skin needs, not by which single machine a practice happens to own. Many plans layer treatments, such as BBL for color and Fraxel for texture.

Treatment, calibrated to you

Settings are tailored to your skin at every visit, with numbing when a treatment warrants it. Downtime ranges from none at all to a week or more of redness and peeling for deep resurfacing, and you will know exactly what to expect before you commit.

A series, then maintenance

Most laser and light treatments work as a short series spaced weeks apart, with results building as skin remodels. From there, sun protection and occasional maintenance visits protect the investment, and we will tell you honestly how much upkeep your plan needs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know which skin treatment I need?

You do not need to arrive with a device in mind. Bring the concern, whether acne, brown spots, redness, scars, lines, unwanted hair, or veins, and we match it to the right technology after examining your skin. The same concern can call for different treatments in different skin types.

Are laser treatments safe for darker skin tones?

Many are, but device choice matters far more in darker skin, where the wrong wavelength or setting can cause pigment changes. This is a core reason to have a dermatologist select and perform your treatment. We carry multiple platforms specifically so treatment can be tailored safely to your skin tone.

What can be done for acne beyond creams and pills?

Quite a lot. AviClear is a laser that targets the overactive oil glands driving acne, laser and light treatments calm active breakouts, and photodynamic therapy treats stubborn cases. For the scars acne leaves behind, resurfacing options like Fraxel, Morpheus8, and microneedling rebuild smoother skin.

How much downtime do skin treatments involve?

It ranges widely. HydraFacial, GentleWaves, and laser hair removal have essentially none. BBL and Clear + Brilliant usually leave nothing more than mild redness that settles within a few hours to a day. Deeper resurfacing trades recovery for bigger correction: Fraxel typically means two to five days of redness and peeling, and CO2 resurfacing can run a week or more. Your plan is built around what your schedule allows.

Do you treat spider veins and leg veins?

Yes, vein care is in our name. Sclerotherapy closes spider and small varicose veins with a series of injections, and the YAG laser treats leg veins and facial vessels without needles. Most patients need a few sessions for full clearance.

How many sessions will I need, and what does it cost?

Both depend on the treatment and your skin. Some concerns clear in one visit while most light-based treatments work as a series of three to six sessions. You receive a specific plan and quote at your consultation before anything is scheduled, and CareCredit financing is available.
